仮面ライダーアインズ
すごいね。ついにライダー1号の藤岡弘さんの「娘」さんが、ライダーとして登場するらしい。アインズとはドイツ語の「EINS（1）」に由来するようで血筋を感じさせる粋な計らい。星の数ほど存在するエンタメの中、こうしたバーチャル（ライダーつながり）とリアル（父と娘）を掛け合わせた「唯一無二の演出」は、今後、頭一つ飛び抜ける結果になっていきそう。
暗いヒーロー
藤岡弘（侍語録）さん曰く「仮面ライダーは暗いヒーローだった。二度と俺のように悲しみを背負った改造人間は作らせないぞ、という気持ちをエネルギーにしていたんだ」という名言があるらしい。なるほど、だからこそ人の共感を呼び、今も愛されているのかもしれない。
イースは真逆（対極路線）？
仮面ライダーの人気を基準に「イース」についても考えてみた。むしろ「対極路線」だと感じた次第。仮面ライダーが「異形であることの悲しみ（改造人間）」「孤独」「内なる戦い」で共感を呼んだとするならば、イースⅠ・Ⅱの本質は「光」「希望」「純粋さ」「儚い美しさ」に魅力があると思う。共通点があるとすれば「悲しみ」かもしれない。
イースⅠ・Ⅱが今も愛される理由
イースはダークではないけれども「悲しみ」はある。ただ、その悲しみは陰鬱的な何かではなく「美しい切なさ」といったものだろう。
たとえばフィーナの最後の言葉で「お別れです・・・」のメッセージには、叶わぬ想い、運命による別離といった、人の心をくすぐるようなニュアンスが含まれている感じがする。
フィーナの魅力
そんなフィーナの魅力には、次のような点が挙げられそう。
・神秘性と親しみやすさの両立した存在
・自己犠牲の美しさ（自分の想いより使命を優先）
・届かない存在としてのロマン（手に入らないからこそ感じる美しさ、尊さ）
・母性と少女性の共存
アドルの魅力
また、アドルについて言えば、ライダーのような「復讐者」でもなければ「苦悩する異形（改造人間）」でもない。どちらかと言えば「純粋に冒険を愛する少年」「困っている人を助ける優しさ」「多くを語らない（プレイヤーの投影）男らしさ」といった”重くならない爽やかさ”を理想としたモデル（像）になっている感じがする。ライダーのダークさが「共感」を呼ぶならば、アドルはむしろ「憧れ」の対象といった設定かもしれない。
アドフィー関係の美しさ
最後に、アドフィー（Adol×Feena）の構造的な魅力についても掘り下げてみる。このカップリングが愛され続ける理由は、以下が挙げられそう。
・言葉にしない想い：明確な告白がないからこそ、想像の余地がある
・運命による別離：二人の落ち度ではない悲劇（どちらも悪くない）
・「再会」への希望：完全な終わりではなく、いつかまた…という余韻がある
・対等な関係性：アドルが一方的に守るのではなく、フィーナも女神としてアドルを導いている
挙げればキリがないが、イースⅠ・Ⅱの魅力はこうした点に軸があるように思う。

Hiroshi Fujioka (Samurai Sayings) is quoted as saying, “Kamen Rider was a dark hero. He drew his energy from the resolve: ‘I won't let them create another modified human burdened with sorrow like me.’” Ah, that explains it. That's precisely why he resonated with people and is still beloved today.
Ys is the Opposite?
Using Kamen Rider's popularity as a benchmark, I considered Ys. I actually felt it was the “opposite.” If Kamen Rider resonated through “the sorrow of being monstrous (cyborg)”, “loneliness”, and “inner conflict”, then I believe the essence of Ys I & II lies in the appeal of “light”, “hope”, ‘purity’, and “fleeting beauty”. If there's a common thread, it might be “sorrow”.
Why Ys I & II Are Still Beloved
Ys isn't dark, but it does contain “sadness.” However, this sadness isn't something gloomy; it's more like a “beautiful poignancy.”
For example, in Feena's final words, the message “This is goodbye...” carries a nuance that resonates deeply with the heart—a sense of unfulfilled longing and separation dictated by fate.
The Appeal of Feena
The appeal of Feena can be summarized in the following points:
・A presence that balances mystery and approachability
・The beauty of self-sacrifice (prioritizing her mission over her own feelings)
・The romance of being unattainable (the beauty and preciousness felt precisely because she cannot be possessed)
・The coexistence of motherly warmth and girlish innocence
Adol's Appeal
As for Adol, he is neither a “revenge-seeker” like a Rider nor a “tormented aberration (cyborg)”. Rather, he embodies an idealized model of “pure, adventure-loving youthfulness,” “kindness that helps those in need,” and “a manly, reserved nature (open to player projection)”—a refreshing charm that avoids heaviness. If Rider's darkness evokes “empathy,” Adol is perhaps more of an object of “admiration.”
The Beauty of the Adol-Feena Relationship
Finally, let's delve into the structural appeal of Adol×Feena. The reasons this pairing endures include:
・Unspoken Feelings: The absence of explicit confession leaves room for imagination
・Fate-driven Separation: A tragedy not caused by either party's fault (neither is at fault)
・ Hope for “Reunion”: It's not a complete ending, leaving the lingering feeling of “someday again...”

The list could go on, but I feel the appeal of Ys I and II centers around these points.
