まいど。八刻堂のハチでございます。いやはや、イベント出展のあとの月曜日はなかなかキツいです^^;前日までの準備に加え、当日の緊張感、終わった後の余韻に浸る時間など（←ココ大事）。いろんなことに時間が湯水のごとく溶けていくからです。体力回復期間も必要です。年齢を重ねるに連れ、すり減っていく体力と気力、そんなジレンマを抱えつつ、これらの難題を乗り越える秘策はいったいあるのだろうか？、と。今日はそんなテーマについて語ってみたいと思います。

「前倒しの一歩」の大切さを痛感
自分の場合、1つだけ「秘策」があると感じています。それは「最初の1歩だけ前のめりになる」ことでした。1歩が難しい場合は半歩でもいい。半歩も難しければ前傾姿勢になるだけでもいい。そんな感覚で自分に課題を課してスケジュールを前倒しすると、いつの間にか好循環が生まれてくるのを感じました。
前倒しサイクルによって生まれる「未来」
この好循環は「前倒しの一歩」によって生まれました。具体的な例をあげると、次のように「未来」が変わっていきました。
・八刻堂は、去年の8月にオープンできるほど余裕はなかった（本来は9月スタート。でも形だけでもいいから先にオープンさせた ※だからアドル1体の販売のみ）
・ARミニゲームはまだ出来上がっていなかった（完成前だが前に突き進んだ）
・ロダの樹サイズで厚さ1cmは自立できる確証が持てなかった（でもサンプルを作った）
・ダイヤカットアクスタは前代未聞だった。世の中に参考となる事例はなかった（結果、大変な思いをしたが、お陰でバリエーションと知見が増えた）
・ソーサリアンは年末年始の犠牲の上に成り立っている（1か月遅かったら年明け以降になっていた）
・ソーサリアンで感触を掴めたからワンダラーズに踏み込むことができた（ワンダラーズの遊び心は、ソーサリアンの知見による「余裕」から生まれた）
・レゲットに参加することが決まったから、前倒しでワンダラーズフロムイースをリリースした
・ロダの樹で培った経験があったから「翼を持った少年」にチャレンジすることができた
・その結果、全30数種のうち「翼を持った少年」が特に人気であることがわかった
もし9月オープンにしていたら？
ここでゾッとすることがある。もし8月オープンを9月オープンにしていたら、おそらくソーサリアンはまだできていなかったかもしれない。そもそもソーサリアンがなければワンダラーズ（横スクロール）も躊躇していた。仕事に余裕があるタイミングでロダの樹にチャレンジしていなかったら翼を持った少年も躊躇していた。そうするとレゲットでのお客様の反応や感触を見ることも知ることもできなかった。ワンダラーズを出展しなければ、そもそもポスターがなかった可能性すらある（業者不備）。ポスターがなければ、お客様は足を止めてくれなかった可能性すらある。こんな感じで最初の前倒しの一歩が「その後の連鎖」にすべて影響が及んでくると感じた次第。
なんだか、ちょっと堅苦しい話になってしまったけど、これから同人でもなんでも「アクティブな活動をしたい」と考えている方がいれば、この「前倒しの一歩」をぜひオススメしたい✨️

Man, Mondays after an event are really tough^^; Between the preparations leading up to the event, the tension on the day itself, and the time spent savoring the afterglow (← this part is important), time just flies by like water. I also need time to recover my stamina. As I get older, my physical and mental energy gradually wear down. Faced with this dilemma, is there really a secret strategy to overcome these challenges? Today, I’d like to explore that very topic.

Taking that first step forward
In my case, I feel there’s just one “secret strategy.” It’s to “lean in just a little for that very first step.” If taking a full step is too hard, a half-step is fine. If even a half-step is too hard, just leaning forward is enough. When I set myself this kind of challenge and moved my schedule up, I found that a virtuous cycle naturally began to take shape before I knew it.
Born from the Cycle of Moving Things Up
This virtuous cycle was born from that “first step forward.” To give a concrete example, my “future” changed as follows:
・We didn’t have enough leeway to open in August of last year (the original plan was to start in September, but we opened early even if it was just a rough version *which is why we only sold one Adol figure)
・The AR mini-game wasn’t finished yet (we pushed forward even before it was complete)
・We weren’t sure if a 1cm-thick Rodah Tree model could stand on its own (but we made a sample anyway)
・The diamond-cut acrylic stand was unprecedented. There were no existing examples to reference (As a result, it was a struggle, but it led to increased variety and insights)
・“Sorsarian” was built on the sacrifice of the year-end and New Year holidays (If it had been delayed by one month, it would have been released after the New Year)
・Because we gained a sense of the process with “Sorsarian,” we were able to take the plunge with “Wanderers” (The playful spirit of “Wanderers” was born from the ‘leeway’ gained through the insights from “Sorsarian”)
・We released Wanderers from Ease ahead of schedule because we had decided to participate in Leget.
・We were able to take on the challenge of “The Boy with Wings” because of the experience we gained from The Tree of Roda.
・As a result, we discovered that “The Boy with Wings” is particularly popular among the 30-odd titles.
What if we had launched in September?
This is where I get a chill. If we had pushed the August launch back to September, Sorcerian probably wouldn’t have been ready yet. To begin with, without Sorcerian, I might have hesitated to make Wanderers (the side-scroller). If I hadn’t taken on The Tree of Roda when I had some breathing room in my schedule, I might have hesitated on The Boy with Wings as well. If that had happened, I wouldn’t have been able to gauge customer reactions and feedback at Leget. If I hadn’t exhibited Wanderers, there might not even have been a poster to begin with (due to a vendor’s oversight). And without the poster, customers might not have stopped to take a look. This is how I came to realize that taking that one step forward early on affects the entire chain of events that follows.
This might have turned into a bit of a dry lecture, but if there are any of you out there—whether in the doujin scene or elsewhere—who are thinking, “I want to be more active,” I highly recommend taking that “first step forward.”
