まいど。八刻堂のハチでございます。本日、無事に「イースⅡ」の世界へ突入できました！！パチパチパチ✨️アドルくんがなんとかフィーナとレアを導いてくれてε-(´∀｀*)ﾎｯとしています。今回のデザインは、わりとSNSでも様々な思いが飛び交っていたので「FAQ」という形でお答えするよ。
#なんでそうなった？への回答💪
フィーナとレアが見分けつかない！
結論から言いましょう。「狙い通り」です。むしろ、そう簡単に見分けがついては困ります。PC88オリジナル版は「同じ」ドット絵を使用しているためです。
名前だけ変えようか迷ったくらい
最初「同じデザイン」で名前だけ変えてリリースしようかと考えていました。とはいえ流石にそれはNGな気がする。でも、できる限りドットはイジりたくない。じゃあどうすればいいか？フィーナに「金のペンダント」をつければいいじゃないか、と。イースⅡのエンディング（イベント画）にも出てくるし。それに変えるとしても「誰が見ても、この4ドット以外あり得ないでしょ？」という4箇所だけを金色にしてあります。
レアの銀のペンダントは？
よくよく見ると、レアの「銀のペンダント」がありません。そう、元のドットデザインのままです。レア様ファンからすると「フィーナばっかり」「レア様をないがしろにしないで」といった意見も聴こえてきそう。ご心配ありません。レア様の銀のペンダントは「心の目」で見ることができます。そもそも、衣装との色合いで検討すると「目立たない」が正解のはず。下手に変更すると返って「原作に不忠実（リスペクトが足りない）、悪目立ちし過ぎ」に行き着くと判断し、敢えて色付けしない選択をしました。

リリアは9色使っている！
最後にこちら。よく見られ過ぎていてΣ(ﾟДﾟ)しました。1キャラ1キャラ気合を入れて作成しておいて本当に良かった！と思いました。そう、リリアは実は8色ではなく「9色」使われています。理由は「お肌の色」が原因。元のデザインはホワイトとイエローのツートンストライプ。これは他のキャラにも言える部分。じつは、お肌の色はどのキャラも当初ツートンストライプにしていました。けど、初見の方からは「不評」だったのです。それもそのはず、CRTモニターの小さなドットなら問題ないけど「アクスタで拡大したドット絵」だと違和感が払拭しきれない。オールドゲーマー目線だけならそれもいいけど、新しい世代や海外の新規ユーザーにまで届けたい。だから「初見様の違和感は可能な限り払拭しておきたい！」そんな理由があって今に至った次第です。

Fina and Rea look identical!
Let me get straight to the point: “That was the intention.” Honestly, it wouldn't work if they were easy to tell apart. This is because the original PC-88 version used the “same” dot graphics.
I even considered just changing their names
At first, I considered releasing it with the “same design” and just changing the names. But honestly, that felt like a no-go. Still, I really didn't want to mess with the dots. So what to do? I thought, why not give Fina a “gold pendant”? It appears in the ending (event illustration) of Ys II too. And even when changing it, I only made four dots gold – the exact four dots that anyone would instantly recognize as hers.
What about Rhea's silver pendant?
If you look closely, Rhea's “silver pendant” is missing. That's right, it's kept the original dot design. I can almost hear Rhea fans saying, “It's all about Feena,” or “Don't neglect Rhea!” No need to worry. Lady Rhea's silver pendant can be seen with the “eye of the mind.” Honestly, considering the color scheme with her outfit, “not standing out” is actually the right choice. We judged that changing it carelessly would lead to being “unfaithful to the original (lacking respect)” or “standing out too badly,” so we deliberately chose not to color it.

Lilia uses 9 colors!
Finally, this one. I was shocked to see it get so much attention! I'm so glad we poured our hearts into creating each character! Yes, Lilia actually uses “9 colors,” not 8. The reason is her “skin tone.” The original design featured white and yellow two-tone stripes. This applies to other characters too. In fact, every character's skin tone was initially planned as two-tone stripes. But it was “unpopular” with first-time viewers. And no wonder—while it might be fine on a CRT monitor's tiny dots, the “enlarged pixel art on acrylic stands” just felt off. It might have been okay from a veteran user's perspective, but we wanted to reach new generations and overseas users too. So we thought, “We want to eliminate any discomfort for first-time viewers beforehand.” That's why we ended up here.
