#必殺、開き直り戦法
翼を持った少年の輪郭
今日は新作アクスタ、翼を持った少年の「輪郭へのこだわり」について、ちょっと細かな部分を語ってみたいと思います。大きく3点あります。
帆（ほ）= セール（sail）
舳先（へさき）= バウ（bow）
クラブ旗 = バージー（burgee）
この3箇所は意図的にこだわりました。
#ヨット用語って難しい
特長を強調する輪郭
八刻堂が制作するアクスタは、ドット絵ではあるものの、輪郭は「直線」的に描く場合が少なくありません。斜めの直線を用いたり、場合によってはワンポイントだけR強めの曲線を用いたりすることで、基本的にそのキャラの「特長」を強調する仕様としています。
流線型の部分
ところが、今回制作した「翼を持った少年」のヨット部分には、大きな曲線を2個所ほど描きました。
その部分が、
帆（ほ）= セール（sail）
舳先（へさき）= バウ（bow）
となります。
いわゆるこの2個所が「このキャラ（オブジェクト）」の特長部分になるからです。逆を言うと、この部分を下手に直線の連続やギザギザを用いてしまうと、チープな印象を与えかねないため、敢えてそうした表現を避けました。
ギザギザの部分
一方、その反対の演出が「クラブ旗 = バージー（burgee）」部分です。これまで30種類近くのアクスタを制作しましたが、ギザギザを用いたのは今回がはじめてです。
なぜ、ギザギザにしたのか？
理由は大きく2つあります。
・帆や舳先とのコントラスト（対比）
・風になびく演出
の2点です。
バージー（burgee）は、ヨットのマスト頂部に付ける三角形の小旗のことで、クラブのシンボルであったり、風向きを確認するために使われる用途があるようです。
こうした用途を総合的に勘案し、今回に関しては
「ギザギザ」
がしっくりくると判断し、今回のような造形としました✨️

The Silhouette of a Boy with Wings
Today, I’d like to talk a bit about the finer details of our new acrylic stand—specifically, the “attention to detail in the silhouette” of the boy with wings. There are three main points.
Sail
Bow
Burgee
I paid particular attention to these three areas.
#Yachting Terms Are Tricky
Outlines That Emphasize Distinctive Features
Although the acrylic figures produced by Hakokudo are pixel art, the outlines are often drawn with “straight lines.” By using diagonal straight lines or, in some cases, a single point with a pronounced curve, we aim to emphasize the character’s “distinctive features.”
Streamlined sections
However, for the “boy with wings” design created this time, I drew two large curves on the yacht portion.
Those sections are:
Sail
Bow
This is because these two areas are the defining features of “this character (object).” Conversely, if I had carelessly used a series of straight lines or jagged edges in these areas, it could have given a cheap impression, so I deliberately avoided such expressions.
The Jagged Parts
On the other hand, the opposite approach was taken with the “club flag = burgee” section. I’ve created nearly 30 types of acrylic stands so far, but this is the first time I’ve used jagged edges.
Why did I choose a zigzag design?
There are two main reasons:
・Contrast with the sail and bow
・The effect of fluttering in the wind
These are the two points.
A burgee is a small triangular flag attached to the top of a yacht’s mast; it serves as a club symbol and is also used to indicate wind direction.
Taking all these uses into consideration, I decided that
“serrated edges”
would be the perfect fit for this project, so I went with this design ✨️
