失われつつあるレトロゲーム
今朝も5時起きで、ギリギリまで内容をブラッシュアップ。テーマは「レトロゲーム関連」ですが、もうちょっと踏み込んだ話をすると、
「失われつつあるレトロゲームタイトル」を
・今後どうする必要があるのか？
・このまま放置しておいてよいのか？
・日本の文化遺産の保全と継承は？
といった大きなテーマを取り扱いました。
立ちはだかる権利関係の壁
レトロゲームといっても、イースのように38年も続くシリーズは本当に稀で、過去に数十万本も売れたゲームでさえ、数十年も放置されることがあり、久しぶりに復刻が期待される作品でさえ「権利関係」という大きな壁が立ちはだかる（復刻が進まない）状況だったりします。
原作者やファンの年齢層もそろそろ脂が乗りきった頃合いということもあり、本気で「保全と継承に取り組む必要があるんじゃないの？」といったことを、たった5分でプレゼンしてきました。
そんなことを言いつつ、ふとした瞬間に「自分はいったい誰のために何をやっているんだろう？」と疑問に感じることもあります。でも、社会的な影響力がなくたってできることはあると思い直し、日々前向きにコツコツと目の前のことに取り組んでいる次第です。

Hey there. Hachi from Hakokudo here. This is probably my first time posting survival reports two days in a row. Guess that means I've been totally focused on my presentation these past two days.
Retro Games Facing Extinction
Got up at 5 AM again this morning, polishing the content right up to the wire. While the theme is broadly “Retro Games,” to get a bit more specific, I tackled the larger issues surrounding:
“Retro Game Titles Facing Extinction”
- What needs to be done going forward?
- Can we just leave them as they are?
- What about preserving and passing on Japan's cultural heritage?
The Looming Wall of Rights Issues
Even among retro games, series like Ys that have lasted 38 years are truly rare. Games that sold hundreds of thousands of copies in the past can still be neglected for decades. Even titles long-awaited for a re-release face a massive wall: “rights issues” (which prevent re-releases from happening).
Given that the original creators and fans are now at an age where they should be in their prime, I gave a five-minute presentation seriously arguing, “Isn't it time we seriously tackled preservation and inheritance?”
Even while saying such things, I sometimes catch myself wondering, “Who am I really doing this for?” But I remind myself that even without social influence, “there are things I can do,” and I keep working steadily and positively on the tasks right in front of me each day.

So, this ended up being a bit serious and reflective, but Hachi from Hakokudo tends to think about these things quite often.
